Park City for Mikey's Birthday

So, Thursday the 23rd was Makalee's (AKA Michael Le) birthday! He turned 20. In celebration, he and I decided to go up to Park city the Friday after with a bunch of friends to ride the Alpine Slide and Alpine Coaster. He had never done them before so he was excited. So we got me, Mike, Sterling, Megan, Lee, Pam and Sciena and drove up to Park City at 5:00 that night. I don't think we left till around 5:30 or 5:45, but either way we left and got there... barely because my little Honda hates hills and so we were going about 30 mph all the way there.

Once we got there, we had a blast. Everyone was excited to ride the slide and coaster. We had an awesome time. :)

Megan and I raced... I TOTALLY won! Yessss... :)

The Coaster was the best. So much fun! After wards, we hurried home to eat sandwiches chips and goodies. We were late coming home though, so instead of eating at the park, we hung out at Megan's house in her back yard... until it started raining... All in all, it was a fun day.

Happy Birthday Mikey!

Job #3

So, for the last couple months I've been struggling with my job... and needing a new one. I realized shortly after I got my Green Tea HP job, that it wasn't going to pay me as well as I thought it would. Also, if I wanted to move back out in the fall, I needed to start making more money and quick. So, I've been looking for a job and, thanks to my friend Chris, I was hired on to Uhaul in E Reservations. I would work from my computer at home and the money seemed like it could be good enough, the only catch is that the job wouldn't start until the middle of August... which is a bit of a problem.

I realized that if I were to register for classes in time and move out, I'd need to start making money and fast. Regardless of my epiphany... I started getting even less hours at work, 8 hours a week to be exact, and decided to play and enjoy my summer while I could. It has been so much fun to enjoy my summer as much as I have so far, but it's not making me very much money.

I don't know what I did to deserve the opportunity to come, but yesterday, my mom called me up with a job opportunity. She has been working with a guy who owns a site called Bloggled. My mom had told him about how I did some advertising work for her magazine and is in need of some advertising for his own business. She set up an interview with me and I talked to him today at 3:30... well... I got the job! The best part is that its doing something I'm familiar with and good at and I'll be able to work from home if I'd like, set my own hours AND he's starting me off at $16.50 an hour! Yeah... I'm excited about that.

When he asked about how much I thought I deserved, I asked him what he thought... because really I was thinking around ten an hour. He later said that he was thinking around 15 or 16 an hour... then he asked if that was too low! So I responded, "Um... yeah that'd alright I guess." In my head I'm really jumping for joy. So he says, "How about 16.50? Is that alright?" So I respond again, "Yeah I think thats okay." Okay? No. That's great!

Anyways, I am totally stoked because it seems like a company I could grow with. He said that if the business really takes off (it's a new company) then he'd like to keep me on and see what else I could help him with. I would love to continue working with the company. Specially because the owner is such a cool, funny guy. He seems very relaxed and laid back. He's up for hearing my ideas on advertising and what not and I'm able to hear out his ideas. It's great.

If this works out well, I would definitely be able to move out soon and get going to school again. I'd also be able buy myself that new car finally.

Well, pray for me and cross your fingers that everything works out well. I need it bad!

Third Time's a Charm

So, I have a couple blogs already, but I decided today that you can never have too many blogs, right? My first blog is more of a personal blog for my family, my second blog is just about my music Career, singing, songwriting and how I'm progressing with that (www.briannanicolemusic.blogspot.com), this blog is just a fun Bri-writing-about-her-awesome/boring/crazy/exciting-life-and-anyone-who-wants-to-read-it-can kind of blog. So, if your interested, read on! If not... go away. :)

Blogging seems to be all the rage these days, it's only appropriate that I join in on the fad. It's actually much better than keeping a journal, I think. Personally, I just hate writing with a pen or pencil... makes my hand hurt and my brain seems to go a lot faster than my hand can write so when I read back, most of it doesn't make any sense. So far, blogging has been successful with my other blogs :). I need to update my music one though. Don't judge me! I'm trying!

Well, lets see... I guess seeing as this is the first post of many, I could do a brief little introduction. Well, I'll be 20 in September (exciting!) and I'm currently attending UVU as an English Major with an emphasis on Creative Writing. I love it so far. I almost have my associates and I'm just getting into more of the fun English classes and less of the general You-Have-To-Take-These-Or-You'll-Die classes.

I'm doing a kind of unofficial minor in French. I say that because my transcript doesn't actually say: "Minor = French", but I am concentrating a lot on French because thats what I really want to work with when I'm done with school. One of my dream jobs would be to translate French for an international company. I want to do this because I absolutly love the language and I want to keep up with it and speaking it everyday is really the best way. Also, I can't think of a better job than speaking a language you love all day long :). I will hopefully be studying abroad next summer in Nice and Paris, France. It will be a one or two month trip staying with a french family. I am so excited. That would be the best way to improve my skills.

My parents are currently living in Saratoga Springs, UT. They love it there. I am temporarily living with them during the summer and then plan to move back out in the fall to go back to school. My sister, Stacy, is married and living in Salt Lake County. She and Rob just sold their house and are looking for a new one to move into. Landon's, well, Landon. He's living here/there... not really sure what's going on with him. Tanner is a teenage boy and wants everyone to know it. He's a little punk but he grows on you ;-D.

So, that's me and my family in a really, really small, claustrophobic nutshell. But I'll fill you in on more as life goes on.
